Reflecting on the use of communicative, informative, and constructive tools has given me a deeper understanding of how technology supports teaching and learning. As a student teacher, I’ve realized how often we rely on these tools, sometimes without even noticing their impact.
The Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is a very useful tool in my daily learning. I use it to check for updates from my teachers and college, which helps me stay organized and prepared. I also use it to access lesson materials like PowerPoint slides and readings. This helps me understand the topics better. However, VLE has some downsides. It depends on internet and electricity, so it’s hard to use in places with poor connection. It also reduces face-to-face contact, which can make students feel lonely. Some people also find the platform hard to use.
Another helpful tool I use is Google Docs. It allows users to create, edit, and share documents online. I find it very useful for group work because we can all work on the same document at the same time. Everyone can see changes and give comments, which improves teamwork and helps us learn from each other. In the past, sharing and editing documents was slow and confusing, but Google Docs has made it much easier. It also keeps track of each person’s contributions, making the work more fair and transparent. However, using Google Docs requires internet access and some knowledge of technology, which may be a problem for some students. As a future teacher, I need to consider these challenges and support my students.
I also use Messenger to stay in touch with my family and friends. I’ve been using it for five years, and it’s very helpful for quick and real-time conversations. Messenger has helped me reconnect with old friends and meet new people. It makes communication easy and fast. But there are some risks too. Privacy and security can be a problem, and overusing Messenger can harm relationships. Sometimes, people are more focused on their phones than the people around them.
In conclusion, tools like VLE, Google Docs, and Messenger are very useful in education and daily life. They help us stay connected, learn better, and work together. But we must also use them wisely and be aware of their limitations.
