Summary
Reflecting on the use of communicative, informative, and constructive tools has given me a deeper understanding of how technology supports teaching and learning. As a student teacher, I’ve realized how often we rely on these tools, sometimes without even noticing their impact.
The Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is a very useful tool in my daily learning. I use it to check for updates from my teachers and college, which helps me stay organized and prepared. I also use it to access lesson materials like PowerPoint slides and readings. This helps me understand the topics better. However, VLE has some downsides. It depends on internet and electricity, so it’s hard to use in places with poor connection. It also reduces face-to-face contact, which can make students feel lonely. Some people also find the platform hard to use.
Another helpful tool I use is Google Docs. It allows users to create, edit, and share documents online. I find it very useful for group work because we can all work on the same document at the same time. Everyone can see changes and give comments, which improves teamwork and helps us learn from each other. In the past, sharing and editing documents was slow and confusing, but Google Docs has made it much easier. It also keeps track of each person’s contributions, making the work more fair and transparent. However, using Google Docs requires internet access and some knowledge of technology, which may be a problem for some students. As a future teacher, I need to consider these challenges and support my students.
I also use Messenger to stay in touch with my family and friends. I’ve been using it for five years, and it’s very helpful for quick and real-time conversations. Messenger has helped me reconnect with old friends and meet new people. It makes communication easy and fast. But there are some risks too. Privacy and security can be a problem, and overusing Messenger can harm relationships. Sometimes, people are more focused on their phones than the people around them.
In conclusion, tools like VLE, Google Docs, and Messenger are very useful in education and daily life. They help us stay connected, learn better, and work together. But we must also use them wisely and be aware of their limitations.
Reflection on Informative Tool
The Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) has become an essential part of my daily learning experience. It serves as a highly informative tool that helps me stay updated and organized in my academic life. One of the main ways I use VLE is to check for daily announcements. Every morning, I log into the platform to read any new updates from lecturers or the college. This helps me stay informed about changes in the schedule, important reminders, or upcoming deadlines.
I also use VLE to access lesson materials. After attending classes or before preparing for a new topic, I visit the VLE to review PowerPoint slides, readings, and other resources uploaded by my tutors. This has helped me a lot in keeping up with the lessons and understanding the content better.
Overall, VLE plays a very important role in supporting my learning by providing quick access to announcements, lesson plans, and learning resources. It helps me manage my time and responsibilities more effectively.
While the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is a useful tool for learning, it also has some disadvantages. One of the main issues is that it depends heavily on internet connectivity. In places with poor network or electricity, it becomes difficult to access materials or receive announcements on time. Another disadvantage is that VLE reduces face-to-face interaction. Students may feel isolated or less motivated without the classroom environment. Sometimes, the platform can also be confusing or difficult to navigate, especially for those who are not confident with technology. These challenges can affect the learning experience if not properly addressed.
Reflection on constructive tool
Google Docs tend to stand out as an efficient constructive tool that fosters active engagement when it comes to teaching and learning. My experience with Google Docs has helped me understand the value in an educational setting that this tool has. Google Docs allows users to create, edit and share documents through online. Before, editing documents meant sharing the documents manually and making changes individually. But Goggle docs have bridged this barrier whereby, it allows its users to live share the documents and make changes together. For instance, students can invite others to come and check their works and let others comment on their work. This type of online collaboration through Goggle Docs enhances teamwork, encourages sharing of every individuals ideas and it also strengthens group discussions. In the past, documents sharing and editing sometimes led to misunderstandings where one couldn’t understand what and where the other friends have made changes. However, Google Docs have changed this old tradition as it marks every individuals works and lets others know what changes the member have made. It also allows users to have immediate discussions. The ability of keeping records of individual contribution makes the work more transparency if it is done in groups and it also helps understand how the ideas got resolved.
However, I am also aware of some limitations that might arise, such as limited access to the internet or lack of digital literacy among the students. As a future teacher, I might need to take these factors into consideration and provide appropriate guidance and support. In conclusion, Google Docs is a valuable constructive tool that matches will with the principles of student-centered learning. My experience as a trainee has shown me its potential to make learning more interactive, reflective, and collaborative.
In conclusion, Google Docs has transformed
the way we collaborate on written work. Its real-time sharing, editing, and commenting features make teamwork more efficient, transparent, and organized. By allowing multiple users to contribute at the same time, it encourages open communication and the exchange of ideas. Overall, Google Docs is a valuable tool that supports modern learning and working environments by making collaboration easier and more effective.
Reflection on Communicative Tool
it has been 5 years since using Messenger as means of communication with my family and friends. It helped me to stay connected with my family and friends. One of the most striking benefits of Messenger is its immediacy. Unlike traditional forms of communication, such as email or postal mail, Messenger facilitates real-time conversations, making it ideal for both personal and professional exchanges. The ability to see when someone is online, when they’ve read a message, and to respond instantly has made communication more fluid and dynamic.
Moreover, Messenger has not only strengthened family ties but has also helped me reconnect with old friends and classmates with whom I had lost touch. Just by knowing their account names, I could easily reach out and revive past connections. In addition to this, I’ve had the chance to meet new people, exchange ideas, and learn about their lives and cultures, which has been enriching and eye-opening.
However, while Messenger and similar ICT (Information and Communication Technology) tools offer numerous advantages, they also come with disadvantages. One major concern is cybersecurity and privacy. Since anyone can connect with you, there is always a risk of falling victim to cyberbullying or accidentally sharing personal information with the wrong people. I have also witnessed the negative impact of overuse or misuse of such tools, for instance, couples experiencing relationship issues, or family members being physically present yet emotionally distant because they're more engaged with their devices than with each other. I've personally noticed such situations during family gatherings, where my father, for example, may be busy chatting with others on Messenger rather than engaging with us.
In conclusion, Messenger is a strong and useful tool for communication that has changed the way we connect with others today. It is fast, easy to use, and offers many features, which makes it very helpful. At the same time, it also reminds us to be careful about how often we use it, how we speak to others, and how we protect our personal information online.
